What's your favorite retro game demo?
For me, the demo for Star Wars - Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is near the top. The mission you get to play through isn't in the final game and man, did it leave an impression!
I'd also have to say the demo for its follow-up, Jedi Academy, was equally great but mostly on account of the fact that you play two actual levels from the full game.

The ones that stick out the most in my mind are Einhander from a PS1 demo disc and Sonic Adventure demo for Dreamcast.
Spent a lot of time in both of those, certainly more time than playing the full game for Einhander (since I never got the full game, and I think only ever saw it even once, at a convention decades later).
I still remember competing with my brothers in the Sonic Adventure demo to get fastest times, that was _mostly_ the same as the first level of the first game.

I managed to get Einhander from Hollywood video for a bit in the 90s. It was an interesting side scroller.
Hunted down a flac copy of the Soundtrack recently.
